Financial Controller

EFG Bank is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial controlling processes and develop and implement cost saving strategies, particularly in the IT area. The position reports directly to the Global COO Office and is expected to promote financial excellence and an entrepreneurial mindset.

EFG Bank is looking for a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join our team.

Tasks

  • Financial Controlling: Monitoring financial controlling processes, ensuring accuracy and providing input for all internal reporting requirements.
  • Cost Management: Developing and implementing strategies to maximize cost savings, particularly within the IT function, while adhering to capitalization rules and other complex financial guidelines.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: leading the budgeting and forecasting process, providing accurate and insightful financial analysis to support decision making.
  • Reporting and communication: preparing and presenting detailed financial reports to the Global COO and other senior stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication of financial results and strategic initiatives.
  • Stakeholder management: working with and influencing various functional heads and local COOs to understand their financial challenges and provide guidance on cost management and planning.
  • Process improvement: Identification of opportunities for process improvements and implementation of best practices to improve financial efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: A degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA or equivalent are highly encouraged but not required.
  • Experience: At least 5-7 years' experience in financial controls, with a strong focus on cost management and budgeting within the IT function. Experience in the banking sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with financial software and tools, with a solid understanding of financial reporting guidelines and capitalization rules.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management: Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude: A proactive and innovative approach by being comfortable with details, with a strong desire to drive financial performance and contribute to the overall success of the bank.
