Job description
The position of Financial Crime AML Advisory (Vice President) includes the following responsibilities:- Act as senior anti-money laundering contact, with delegation authority from the MLRO, to provide advice and approvals on money laundering risks in front office, client due diligence, and control functions.
- Build strong relationships with front office and operations teams to provide expert advice on complex anti-money laundering issues and ensure that financial crime requirements are understood.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial crime strategy and controls in EMEA, particularly in the area of anti-money laundering, including monitoring KYC checks by operations teams
- Leadership and support within the financial crime function, employee development, and point of escalation for senior management in cases involving clients with increased financial crime risk
- Identify and propose improvements to current financial crime policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate on the development and updating of financial crime training materials and conduct in-person training sessions throughout the company, including ad hoc training sessions to raise awareness of financial crime
Requirements
The following requirements are necessary:- Experience in financial crime/AML, investment banking/capital markets advisory, at VP level or equivalent senior role, with experience in high-risk client risk assessments, policy exceptions, and front-office AML advisory
- Proven experience in preparing customer risk assessments, comprehensive risk assessments, EDD reports, and approval justifications, with strong analytical writing skills and the ability to escalate heightened risks to senior management
- Professional financial crime qualification from an internationally recognized body (ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of investment banking and capital market instruments with the ability to assess financial crime risks in complex transaction structures
