Head of Front KYC Advisory Team, Singapore
Julius Baer is seeking a dynamic team leader for the Front KYC Advisory Team in Singapore to oversee the quality and effectiveness of KYC reviews for individual clients. The role involves leading KYC specialists, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and working closely with Compliance and the Front Office.
Tasks
- Leading and developing a team of KYC review managers and specialists
- Providing ongoing guidance and training to employees in the areas of customer acquisition (onboarding)
- Serve as an escalation point for difficult cases involving legal and regulatory issues
- Establishing a robust KYC review framework in accordance with local regulations and guidelines
- Oversee the KYC staff on the team who assist relationship managers in preparing “Face of Wealth” (SOW) and “Source of Funds” (SOF) narratives to ensure clear justifications and traceability
- Supporting Front Management (FM) by providing guidance and training on KYC processes
- Risk reporting to appropriate banking and management bodies, escalation of identified problems, and status of corrective actions
- Contribute to process improvements, projects, initiatives, and knowledge sharing within the onboarding and KYC teams
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the front office, compliance, and onboarding teams, to establish high-quality CDD processes
- Regional knowledge and the exchange of best practices with colleagues in Hong Kong
- Training the front office on KYC standards and fostering a culture of risk accountability
- Communicating clear requirements, critical issues, and process updates to senior management, as needed
- Serve as the point of contact for the second line of defense (2LO), internal/external auditors, and regulatory authorities, as needed
- Leadership and inspiration for a high-performing team of KYC specialists
- Setting clear goals, implementing performance measurement frameworks, and fostering a culture of personal responsibility
- Effective management of team capacity, including recruitment, coaching, and prompt resolution of performance issues, to ensure strong execution
- Demonstrating appropriate values and behaviors, including, but not limited to, standards of honesty, integrity, diligence, and conscientiousness; fair dealings; management of conflicts of interest; competence and continuous development; and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
