Front KYC Senior Specialist

The Front KYC Senior Specialist is responsible for reviewing KYC profiles and performing due diligence on client onboarding and vetting to ensure compliance with AML/CFT requirements. The Senior Specialist will also lead a team of KYC specialists and assist with quality assurance and risk assessment.

Job description

Tasks

  • Performing KYC profile reviews and client due diligence checks during client onboarding, periodic reviews and other trigger reviews
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant KYC/AML/CFT requirements
  • Review of risk assessments by relationship managers (RM)
  • Review of source asset documentation and alignment with corroborating evidence and supporting benchmark/market insights
  • Identification and assessment of risks associated with opaque legal structures
  • Review of name screening and adverse media screening results
  • Reviewing client transaction activities and ensuring alignment with client risk profiles
  • Preparation of clear and comprehensive documentation of reviews and assessments
  • Ensuring the timely and qualitative completion of assigned cases
  • Support with periodic/management reporting and status updates
  • Ensuring the quality of services for internal customers
  • Support with KYC training for the front office
  • Completion of ad hoc tasks

Management tasks

  • Coach for the Front KYC Specialist Team
  • Ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of team deliverables
  • Second-level review of team performance
  • Resource management and prioritization of tasks
  • Proactive identification of risks and AML/CFT red flags

  • Cooperation with stakeholders from the second and third line of defense

Requirements

Personal and social requirements

  • Thorough, reliable, responsible and positive

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Professional and technical requirements

  • Degree with at least 7 years of experience in AML/CFT compliance functions in a private banking environment
  • Good knowledge of customer documentation requirements and familiar with the AML/CFT regulatory requirements of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements of the Monetary Authority of Singapore is an advantage
  • Excellent time management skills
