Job description

Your new role

• Analyze, design, develop, test and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River's business and technical problem areas
• Collaborate with business analysts and product managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions to complex problems
• Identify and select problems for which you can make a big impact and lead projects to solve software engineering problems
• Creation, testing, debugging and implementation of software programs, applications and projects using Java, SQL, JavaScript or other related software engineering languages
• Provide technical guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews
• Writing and automating tests to ensure a high-quality product
• Identify opportunities to improve development test methodologies and contribute to related methodology frameworks
• Carrying out manual tests to ensure a high-quality product
• Creation of testable documentation on unit and integration implementations
• Participation in the agile software development process through participation in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming and retrospectives
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to fulfill tasks
• Collaboration with senior engineers for design and support

Requirements

• B.S. degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, engineering or other technical field of study required; M.S. degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Java development - preferably in FinTech (financial materials sector)
• Experience in front-end development with React or Angular
• Experience in the development of cloud-native solutions with AWS, Azure, MDS, Google Cloud
• Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server/Oracle databases and experience with JDBC
• Experience with Kafka, Snowflake, Kubernetes, Tokyo is a strong advantage
