Purpose of the position

The Fund Accounting department at Man US Direct Lending is responsible for financial reporting, auditing, and tax compliance for its funds and other investment structures. The department is seeking an Associate who will focus on financial reporting and auditing. The Associate will work closely with the finance and operations teams. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of their role, is proactive, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously while demonstrating a strong attention to detail.

Specific responsibilities

  • Management of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process for the funds
  • Initial review of the funds' financial statements and quarterly financial reports
  • Initial review of quarterly and annual compliance reports submitted to the funds’ lenders
  • Support and coordination of fund audits
  • Assistance with preparing quarterly and annual operating budget forecasts
  • Management and review of assets and asset classes
  • Management of the calculation of accrued income taxes
  • Collaborate with investment management and other support functions to identify and manage risks
  • Management and oversight of third-party vendors and other external service providers
  • Ongoing review and improvement of financial management processes and controls in collaboration with auditors
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures
  • Ad hoc projects by assignment

Key competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • At least 2 years of experience in the financial services industry at an accounting firm or as an asset manager
  • A moderate level of technical expertise to provide critical and creative solutions
  • Strong Excel skills
