Fund Services, Assistant Manager
The position of Assistant Manager in the Fund Services division at EFG International in Jersey, United Kingdom, involves supporting directors and senior managers in ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively, as well as developing skills for future leadership responsibilities. Job Description
This role requires you to support the director and senior managers in ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively, provide day-to-day support, and contribute to the effective achievement of team goals, while developing the skills necessary to assume management responsibilities in the future.Main tasks
- Perform their role in accordance with established procedures, manage day-to-day activities, and assume responsibility for compliance and fund governance aspects of the services provided to clients, with limited supervision.
- Conduct compliance testing and monitoring as part of compliance monitoring programs for regulated fund structures, and ensure that all findings are addressed and documented.
- Prepare six-monthly compliance reports for client entities and present key findings and updates at board meetings.
- Oversee the customer periodic review process for fund services, including monitoring and resolving external audit findings that have arisen for fund clients.
- Develop, maintain, and improve systems, controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with Group policies, regulatory requirements, and evolving industry standards.
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of various types of regulated funds and the associated governance requirements helps the team deliver high-quality services.
- Effectively manage operational and fiduciary risks, and independently organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
- Supervise and support junior colleagues, monitor workflows, delegate tasks, and act as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.
- Participate in projects and change initiatives, and continuously identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and increased efficiency in fund governance and compliance processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, codes of conduct, and internal policies; escalate risks to senior management when necessary.
- Take responsibility for your own professional development, ensuring that all CPD and relevant training requirements are met annually.
Requirements
- Recognized professional qualification—e.g., accounting, chartered secretary, STEP, banking, securities, compliance, or other relevant Table 5 qualification (in progress on Table 5), as well as relevant experience in AML/CFT/TCPF and financial regulation.
- 3 years of relevant experience in the financial industry, within an onshore/offshore financial services organization, with a solid understanding of all aspects of client administration and fiduciary services.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the local financial industry, legislation, and regulatory requirements in the environment in which we operate.
- Strong commitment to excellent customer service.
- Ability to effectively manage workloads while adapting to different deadlines.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, with minimal supervision and with clarity
