Fund Services, Assistant Manager

The position of Assistant Manager in Fund Services at EFG International in Jersey, UK, requires supporting the team in the efficient and effective execution of tasks and developing skills for future leadership responsibilities. The Assistant Manager supports the Director and Senior Manager in their daily work and contributes to the achievement of team goals, while also ensuring compliance standards and service levels are met.

Job Description

The role requires supporting the director and senior managers in the efficient and effective functioning of the team, providing day-to-day support, and contributing to the effective implementation of team goals, while developing the necessary skills to take on full management responsibilities in the future.

Main tasks

  • Perform their role in accordance with established procedures, take charge of day-to-day activities, and assume responsibility for compliance and fund governance aspects of client services, with limited supervision.
  • Perform compliance testing and monitoring as part of compliance monitoring programs for regulated fund structures, ensuring that all findings are addressed and documented.
  • Prepare semi-annual compliance reports for client entities, present key findings and updates for board meetings.
  • Oversee the client periodic review process for fund services, including monitoring and clarifying external audit points raised for fund clients.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve systems, controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with group policies, regulatory requirements, and evolving industry standards.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of various types of regulated funds and the associated governance requirements, supporting the team in providing high-quality services.
  • Proactively manage operational and fiduciary risks, independently organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  • Supervise and support junior colleagues, monitor workflows, delegate tasks, and act as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.
  • Participate in projects and change initiatives, continuously identifying opportunities for improvement, standardization, and increased efficiency in fund governance and compliance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, codes of conduct, and internal guidelines, escalating risks to senior management when necessary.
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development, ensuring that all CPD and relevant training requirements are met annually.

Requirements

  • Recognized professional qualification—e.g., accounting, chartered secretary, STEP, banking, securities, compliance, or other relevant Table 5 qualification (in progress on Table 5)—as well as relevant experience in AML/CFT and/or financial regulation.
  • Three years of relevant experience in the financial industry, in a foreign financial services organization, with a good knowledge of all areas of customer management and fiduciary services.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the local financial industry, legislation, and regulatory requirements in the environment in which we operate.
  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to effectively manage workloads while meeting various deadlines.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure, with minimal supervision and with clarity
