Global Head of Equity Portfolio Management

As Global Head of Equity Portfolio Management at EFG International in London, you will lead global equity selection, develop portfolio models, and manage a team of analysts. Your goal is to achieve above-average, risk-adjusted performance through in-depth analysis and strategic portfolio construction.

Job Description

  • Responsible for global equity selection, models, and funds.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build equity portfolio models based on geography, sectors, or factors that Global DB can use for implementation
  • Fundamental equity analysis of individual stocks to inform the equity screening process
  • Effectively manage a team of equity analysts: Look for ways to improve and enhance the equity analysis process.
  • Produce and maintain equity reports related to the stock screening process, staying up to date on company and market developments as needed.
  • Keep notes in the appropriate database.
  • Liaise with other portfolio managers around the world to support them in managing large, customized portfolios.
  • Provide a robust investment process and sound rationale for building an equity portfolio.
  • Objectives: To deliver performance above the benchmark over the long term (3 years) in a risk-adjusted manner
  • Monitor and provide ad hoc updates (to explain performance and decisions made) to CXOs and clients.
  • To assist the marketing department in providing appropriate marketing materials and presentations.
  • To comply with and stay informed about all applicable laws and regulations, including relevant Statements of Principle and the Code of Practice for Approved Persons and the Trustee Certification, and to understand how these apply to EFG.
  • Treat customers fairly and act in their best interests at every stage by complying with the Consumer Duty. Ensure that service is transparent, efficient, and professional.
  • Share briefs in the portfolio with other portfolio managers, ICX, etc.
  • Support equity portfolio management by understanding the key components and the market environment
  • Demonstrate an understanding of each customer's decision-making process
  • Strong organizational skills for compiling, analyzing, and filing client documentation. Making this information readily available to CXOs.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience managing global equity analysis and portfolio construction/processes.
  • Degree in Mathematics or Economics (2:1 or higher)
  • Demonstrable understanding of products and the regulatory framework
  • Strong technical and digital skills—experience with SharePoint (preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Economic Background
  • Ability to present data in a meaningful way—using KPIs and charts for senior stakeholders
  • Good IT skills, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to build effective working relationships
