Global Markets HR Business Partner, EMEA (Vice President)
The Vice President, Global Markets HR Business Partner, provides strategic support to Nomura’s EMEA Wholesale division in London on workforce development and talent management initiatives. The role requires extensive experience in the financial services sector, as well as a deep understanding of U.K. labor laws and regional HR challenges.
Tasks
- Work with the broader Global Markets team to drive, lead, and implement HR initiatives for clients in the region
- Closer collaboration with executives and business managers to understand HR challenges and issues
- A true business partner for line managers in all HR matters, providing support in the implementation of HR-related business initiatives and annual processes, including but not limited to DEI
- Collaborate with the specialized recruitment team, the Lateral Mobility Team, and business stakeholders to ensure that the talent strategy is proactively understood and implemented in the region
- Collaborate with other HR/BP professionals across functions and regions to promote cross-functional collaboration and the exchange of information and best practices
- Collaborate with specialized talent and L&D teams to implement ongoing employee development programs based on individual and organizational development needs
- Participation, consultation, and implementation of various HR policies and processes to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and best practices
- Staying up to date on employment regulations and practices in the UK market and complying with local regulations, implementing active employee relations processes, and engaging managers to build a committed and motivated team that drives performance and retains the company’s key talent
- Collaborate with the regional Employee Relations team to proactively assess internal investigations, address ER issues, and manage ER processes
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
- Extensive experience in human resources within the financial services sector
- Experience working with a variety of clients and advising executives on HR-related initiatives focused on talent development, collaboration, and innovation, as well as employee relations
- Experience across the entire EMEA region and a strong understanding of country-specific HR legislation and best practices
- Extensive experience in compensation practices, talent management, incentive structures, and processes
- A deep understanding of the UK and the ability to collaborate with clients on business matters
