Global Network Manager 100% (f/m/d)

The Global Network Manager at Julius Baer is responsible for the strategic oversight and service management of the global network of agent banks, as well as for optimizing costs and processes. The role requires experience in relationship management within the banking sector and the ability to effectively coordinate internal and external stakeholders.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Global responsibility for assigned custodian and cash correspondent relationships, which includes:
  • Active management of relationships with agent banks, including conducting regular service meetings to monitor service delivery and negotiate with clients.
  • Due diligence, active monitoring, and management of service delivery related to Bank Julius Baer’s custodian and cash correspondent relationships to support and ensure service levels for the relevant clients and the bank as a whole.
  • Negotiating and managing fees, ensuring a clear understanding of costs and trends, as well as value delivery, and agreeing on future objectives and ways to improve going forward.
  • Implementation to achieve cost savings.
  • Oversight of contracts, negotiation, and preparation of the documentation required both by the bank and for regulatory purposes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement ongoing front-to-back process optimizations.
  • Provide Bank Julius Baer with an ongoing understanding of market and agent developments, trends, and opportunities, and communicate this information to relevant stakeholders for dissemination to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of custody banks and a strong ability to apply that knowledge in internal advisory and consulting services to support business and client needs.
  • Bank Julius Baer's service delivery, which includes:
  • Develop expertise to provide guidance to client-facing teams on clearing and settlement regulations; account opening requirements; market rules; and service issues.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders associated with a specific correspondent service (e.g., client service, investor relations, trust, custody, operations, compliance, etc.)
  • Identify and manage escalations related to agent banks quickly and professionally, and propose solutions.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any market-specific inquiries and escalations from business customers, Operations, or other colleagues.
  • Work as part of the team to assist colleagues with issues related to Agent Bank inquiries, as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives within Julius Baer as needed.
  • Take the necessary steps, in collaboration with internal and external colleagues, to address any identified regulatory issues or compliance-related matters to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Help foster a culture of progress, enthusiasm, and curiosity within the team and throughout the firm.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Relevant experience in a role supporting service delivery in the areas of network management, financial institutions, relationship management, or account management—preferably in a customer-facing position at a banking institution—is preferred.
  • A proven track record of managing vendor and/or financial institution relationships—whether internal, external, client-facing, or both—ideally related to custodial and/or cash correspondent banking.
  • At least a general understanding of custodian and correspondent banking service requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster and demonstrate relationship management across stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in implementing, leading, or contributing to the development and continuous improvement of operational processes while working across a matrix organization.
