Global Regulatory Reporting Specialist
GFJ Solutions is seeking a Global Regulatory Reporting Specialist for a remote position in Italy, who will be responsible for preparing statutory and internal financial reports and ensuring compliance with global regulations. The position offers an annual salary starting at $30,000 and requires at least five years of experience in a multinational financial environment.
Tasks
- Primary point of contact for external and internal regulatory reporting systems (e.g., Bank of Ireland, JPP, NAIB, local registries, IRD) and oversight of the preparation and filing of statutory reports.
- Ensuring that all financial information (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) is submitted to the relevant authorities accurately and in the required format.
- Conduct detailed monthly and year-end reconciliations to ensure that the financial statements provide a true and fair view of the company's financial position.
- Monitoring and reporting on key regulatory indicators and metrics (e.g., liquidity, capital adequacy), as required by the relevant regulatory authorities.
- Design and implement internal reporting frameworks, including KPIs, balanced scorecards, and variance/forecast reports, to provide management with a clear view of the company's performance.
- Provide detailed insights into the results of the business units, including an explanation of variances from the budget, targets, and prior periods, to support strategic planning and decision-making by senior management.
- Develop and maintain automated reporting processes or dashboards using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Overseeing the consolidation of financial data for management reporting, including accurate internal eliminations and eliminations of non-operating assets.
- Management of complex cross-border regulatory reporting requirements, including taxes, transfer pricing, and AML/anti-money laundering compliance, within the group.
- Serves as a liaison between local entity teams and the central compliance/risk management function to ensure a consistent understanding and application of group-wide policies.
- Monitoring and reporting on non-financial matters such as ESG (environmental, social, and governance), to the extent required by the Group's regulatory or strategic framework.
- Serving as the point of contact for external auditors in all reporting matters, preparing audit packages, managing interim and annual reports, and promptly addressing audit inquiries or findings.
- Collaborate with the Legal Department on matters related to the legal basis for regulatory filings and corporate disclosures.
- Coordinate with the IT department to ensure the integrity of the data fed into reporting systems and the security of reporting processes.
- Collaborate with the tax department to ensure that financial statements are prepared and reported in accordance with tax regulations and that statutory filings are consistent with tax returns.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A master's degree or MBA is a significant advantage for this role.
- More than 5 years of experience in a multinational, multi-entity corporate finance environment, including at least 2 years in a global or complex reporting role.
- Solid conceptual and practical knowledge of at least one major financial reporting framework (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP).
- A deep understanding of the mechanics of the regulatory reporting packages required by various types of financial institutions or large corporations, as well as the ability to translate these into business language.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for advanced reporting tools, as well as in learning or using BI and automated reporting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy; meticulous and reliable when it comes to numbers and deadlines.
