GPS Associate, Wealth Planning and Business Risk Manager
The Julius Baer Group is seeking a GPS Associate Wealth Planning Business Risk Manager to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the wealth planning risk and control framework and to serve as an expert in risk management and advisory services within the GPS department. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of professional experience in risk management, legal, compliance, or wealth planning, and will possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
Your challenge
As a GPS Associate Wealth Planning Business Risk Manager, you play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the Wealth Planning Risk and Control Framework. As a key member of the team, you have the opportunity to make a significant impact, drive process improvements, and foster our risk management culture. You will work side by side with experienced experts to:- To serve as the point of contact for Wealth Planning and Business Risk Management within the GPS Division—providing expert guidance and risk consulting to stakeholders to ensure that key risks are addressed and mitigated.
- Design, implement, evaluate, and maintain the control risk framework for the GPS Division to strengthen the control environment of the WP Subdivision in accordance with the Bank’s internal control standards.
- To manage the effectiveness of controls within the Wealth Planning subunit, identify areas for improvement, and mitigate potential risks in order to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assess the impact of changes to bank-wide policies and ensure that adjustments are reflected in internal controls.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education, preferably in banking and finance, law, accounting, or taxation.
- 3–5 years of professional experience (including internships).
- Professional development in financial markets, financial planning, or risk management (e.g., CFA, CRR, FRM).
- Relevant industry experience: More than 5 years of professional experience, preferably in the private banking sector, with a focus on risk management, legal affairs, compliance, or wealth planning/trust and fiduciary services.
- Strong knowledge of risk management and auditing principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with investment products and services, as well as the associated risks.
- A solid understanding of banking operations, financial products, and processes related to wealth planning and/or trust and fiduciary services.
- Expertise in (in-depth) data analysis, gap assessment, and the development of potential solutions.
- Ability to work independently as part of a global team, take the initiative, and maintain a highly organized approach to work.
- A highly motivated individual with a strong "can-do" attitude and a focus on finding solutions.
- Fluent in English (German is a strong plus).
- Permission to work in the country where the application is submitted for the entire duration of the program.
