B2B Growth Lead - Switzerland / Liechtenstein

Sygnum is seeking a B2B Growth Lead in Zurich to drive business development and client relationships in the digital assets sector for banks in Europe and Asia. The position requires at least 10 years of experience in the banking sector, in-depth knowledge of crypto regulations, and the ability to tap into new markets and design products for institutional clients.

Tasks

  • Enable the B2B (Bank-to-Bank) team to maintain and expand its leadership in regulated access to digital assets among the world's largest banks.
  • Drive business development and relationship management in the digital asset sector and help generate significant growth by helping to lead targeted acquisitions, integrations, and relationship management for our banking partners across Europe and Asia to coordinate acquisition efforts in new markets (i.e., Europe and Asia to coordinate efforts in new, untapped markets, including emerging markets).
  • Contribute to strategic networking, industry events, and conferences, as well as industry engagement—both online and in person—and establish a presence as a thought leader among senior peers and stakeholders.
  • Drive client and pipeline management, sourcing, and acquiring new international markets—with a focus on our existing licensing agreements in Europe and Asia to coordinate efforts in new, untapped markets, including emerging markets.
  • Work closely with Legal & Compliance to help implement KYC processes for larger entities and entities requiring enhanced due diligence.
  • Take full responsibility for the end-to-end client onboarding process (for both individuals and legal entities), ensuring flexible resource allocation across the client base.
  • Work closely with Core Banking, Operations, and external partners to ensure smooth, error-free, and timely onboarding (including initial document processing, setup of new tokens, and issuance of services) and to design customized proposals in niche areas such as Asset Management and Trading.
  • Lead the end-to-end client onboarding process (including initial document processing and KYC procedures) and manage the entire acquisition funnel: strategic networking and industry events (e.g., new tokens, issuing services), and designing customized proposals in niche areas such as asset management and trading.
  • Partner with partner banks to brainstorm and design products for banking clients and internal teams.
  • Provide RM support to Relationship Managers, gradually learning to take ownership of client relationships.
  • Meet the needs of both banking and crypto product managers by serving in a cross-functional bridge role.
  • Engage with leading-edge crypto and institutional requirements and gain an understanding of Sygnum's product development for banking partners.
  • Stay at the forefront of the ever-evolving crypto and broader DLT landscape—gain a deep understanding of Sygnum’s offerings and broader regulatory developments, while building and maintaining strong institutional relationships, conference participation, and industry engagement.

  • Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure alignment with institutional requirements and to foster an understanding of Sygnum's product development for banking partners.
  • Stay at the forefront of the ever-evolving crypto and broader DLT landscape—gain a deep understanding of Sygnum’s offerings and broader regulatory developments, while building and maintaining strong institutional relationships, conference engagements, and industry involvement. Our role also involves attending industry and ecosystem events to drive sales and development opportunities and to serve as the sole point of contact for our clients.

Requirements

  • 10 years of proven experience in client service or relationship management at global banks (preferred). Must have experience in private wealth management (experience in private wealth management preferred).
  • A solid understanding of the digital assets landscape (custody, digital assets trading, staking, tokenization), combined with practical knowledge of the institutional crypto sector, the Swiss DLT Act (VFA), and FINMA/EU regulations regarding digital assets (EADT, MiCA, DLT Act (VFA), and FINMA/EU regulations regarding digital assets).
  • A proven track record, with experience and confidence in developing and expanding client relationships into new regions (including emerging markets).
  • Demonstrable creativity and problem-solving skills, combined with a strong understanding of onboarding processes and markets. Has experience working with banks, financial intermediaries, and the broader commercial landscape.
  • An established network within the financial ecosystem with strong expertise in AMLD compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) in English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills for managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • A valid Swiss/EU work permit and the ability to work on-site at least 3 days a week are required.
