The position of Location Head Advisory Middle East at Julius Baer is a senior position responsible for leading and managing a team of investment advisors to drive business growth and ensure high quality advisory services to clients. The incumbent will also act as an ambassador and point of contact for relationship managers and senior management.

- LOCATION HEAD ADVISORY MIDDLE EAST - Location: Dubai - Employment type: Full-time

Tasks

  • Leadership & Management:
    • Leading, mentoring and motivating team members to achieve team goals
    • Ensure that all team members are up to date with internal processes and policies
    • Support the ongoing development of the team and initiate skills, training and career development plans
  • Client Advisory & Relationship Management:
    • Providing expert investment advice across all asset classes
    • Working with and guiding team members to improve the quality of advice
    • Partnering with relationship managers and internal stakeholders to increase profitability and share of client assets
    • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, relationship managers and internal stakeholders
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal compliance guidelines
    • Ensure that the team completes all required training and certifications
    • Vigilance to minimize operational errors

Requirements

  • Professional experience:
    • Extensive professional experience (10+ years) in the banking and finance industry, preferably in investment advice
  • Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and management skills
    • Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
    • Strategic and leadership skills to make and communicate difficult decisions
    • Excellent communication skills, empathetic personality, charisma and persuasiveness
    • Focus on results
    • Ability to engage with customers and colleagues from different backgrounds
    • Strong planning, organizational and communication skills
    • Good judgment and ability to work under pressure
  • Education:
    • University degree or apprenticeship/university degree, preferably in economics or finance
    • Further training in financial markets (CFA, ESA etc.) is a plus
  • Language skills:
    • English (excellent written and oral skills)
    • Other languages (including Arabic) would be a plus
  • Other:
    • Genuine passion for financial markets with good knowledge of all asset classes and financial products
    • Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements/regimes (e.g. MiFID II, FIDLEG)
