Head of Banking Products & Product Governance

Your role

As Head of Banking Products & Product Governance, you are a hands-on leader responsible for the group-wide product governance framework and the management of banking products. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, operational readiness, and efficient approval processes for all product families, and provide product governance leadership across the Group, including leading the Product Committee Office (PCO), coordinating product reviews, conducting consolidated monitoring of products across all units, and overseeing banking product families, including structured products.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Banking Products & Governance team (3 direct reports)
• You will be responsible for the group-wide product approval and review process, including leading the Product Committee Office
• Assist EU entities with questions related to regulatory issues such as MiFID and PSD II
• Oversee the consolidated monitoring of products across the group, including functional management meetings with subsidiaries and branches
• Ensure that product governance standards, policies, and processes are applied consistently across all group units
• Monitor regulatory product classifications, including the PRIIPs scope indicator, the complex/non-complex determination, compliance categories, and the suitability framework, as well as product risk classification
• Manage the product lifecycle for banking product families: structured products, FIX trading, loans, deposits, Lombard loans, cards, and related services
• Coordinate cross-functional product implementation projects involving the front office, operations, compliance, legal, and IT
• Keep the group-wide product inventory up to date across all locations and units
• Serve as the key point of contact between product teams, compliance, legal, operations, the risk office, and IT on matters related to product governance

Your profile

• Higher education (university or university of applied sciences) in finance, banking, business administration, or a related field
• Additional qualifications in regulatory affairs, compliance, or project management are a plus
• At least 8 years of practical experience in product management, product governance, or a related role in a regulated Swiss banking environment
• Proven experience with bank product approval processes, regulatory product classifications (PRC, PRIIPs, MiFID II target market, suitability), and product lifecycle management
• Proven experience coordinating cross-functional projects across the front office, operations, compliance, and IT
• Experience with structured products, trading products, or credit products is strongly preferred
• Experience with consolidated monitoring of products across multiple jurisdictions and entities is a significant advantage
• Knowledge of regulatory data providers
• Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive decisions through committees
• Familiarity with Swiss and EU regulatory frameworks and an understanding of how products function within a banking system and process from start to finish
