Head of Banking Products & Product Governance

Your role

As Head of Banking Products & Product Governance, you are a hands-on leader responsible for the group-wide product governance framework and the management of banking products. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, operational readiness, and efficient approval processes for all product families, and provide product governance leadership within the Group, including leading the Product Committee Office (PCO), coordinating product reviews, conducting consolidated monitoring of products across all units, and overseeing banking product families, including structured products.

Your tasks

- Lead and develop the Banking Products & Governance team (3 direct reports) - Oversee the group-wide product approval and evaluation process, including leading the Product Committee Office - Support EU locations on issues related to regulatory topics such as MiFID, PSD II - Lead the consolidated monitoring of products within the Group, including functional management calls with subsidiaries and branches - Ensure that product governance standards, guidelines, and processes are applied consistently across all Group units - Monitor regulatory product classifications, including the PRIIPs scope indicator, complex/non-complex determination, compliance categories, and suitability frameworks, as well as product risk classification - Manage the product lifecycle for banking product families: structured products, FX trading, loans, deposits, Lombard, cards, and related services - Coordinate cross-functional product implementation projects involving the front office, operations, compliance, legal, and IT - Maintain the group-wide product inventory across all locations and units - Serve as the key liaison between product teams, compliance, legal, operations, the risk office, and IT on matters of product governance

Your profile

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (university or university of applied sciences) in finance, banking, business administration, or a related field - Additional qualifications in regulatory affairs, compliance, or project management are a plus - At least 8 years of practical experience in product management, product governance, or a related role within a Swiss-regulated banking environment - Experience with bank product approval processes, regulatory product classifications (PRC, PRIIPs, MiFID II target market, suitability), and product lifecycle management - Experience coordinating cross-functional projects across Front Office, Operations, Compliance, and IT - Experience with structured products, trading products, or credit products is strongly preferred - Experience with consolidated product monitoring across multiple jurisdictions and entities is a significant advantage - Knowledge of regulatory data providers - Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive decisions through committees - Familiarity with Swiss and EU regulatory frameworks and an understanding of how products function within a banking system and process from start to finish is required - Strong work ethic, integrity, and a high degree of responsibility - Leadership experience - Fluent in English; fluency in German is a plus
