Head GPS Application Support Asia

The Head GPS Application Support Asia is responsible for leading a team in Singapore that provides first class application support services to the division and builds a global, efficient team structure. The incumbent will define and execute the global GPS application support strategy and communicate with senior business and IT stakeholders.

Job description

Tasks

  • Position GPS Application Support as the first point of contact for all support requests and inquiries from the division
  • Effective and progressive relationship with all stakeholders and users of applications operated by the division
  • Develop best-of-class and industry-standard processes to effectively and efficiently manage incidents, issues and requests in an agile and DevOps setup
  • First and, if applicable, second level of application support
  • Through effective tracking and management of incidents and issues, bug fixes and requirements are proposed and raised to the change delivery teams to improve processes and supported applications

Personnel management

  • Manage and continuously develop team members with the right cultural, technical and knowledge competencies to place them at the highest level
  • Manage a strong application support function in Singapore within the GPS division and position Julius Baer as an employer of choice by hiring best-in-class talent

Monitoring tasks

  • Responsible for the actions of employees under your responsibility and the conduct of business under your supervision

Regulatory tasks and/or risk management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or comparable graduate level degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Enthusiasm for technology with a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit to get things done in a fast-paced environment of continuous change
  • Service and client-centered personality and attitude
  • Strong advocate and proponent of multi-site teams and global mindset
  • Willingness to work from the office on a hybrid basis and be prepared to work shifts
  • Natural and inspiring leader with strong change, people management and decision-making skills
  • Proven experience in leading high performance application support teams on a global scale
  • Good understanding of financial products, trading, execution and sales processes in a banking environment
  • Estimation and experience with distributed client-server application architectures
  • Technical strength in Windows, Unix and databases with confidence in writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience with application monitoring tools and platforms such as Grafana
  • Great communication and writing skills, e.g. business fluent in written and spoken English
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations and requirements
