Head (m/f/d) of Credit Risk Management, Germany

Julius Bär is seeking a credit risk management executive in Frankfurt am Main who will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, further developing processes, and monitoring the private banking credit portfolio.

Tasks

  • Management of the department with experienced staff, both locally and within the group's network
  • Responsibility for implementation and, consequently, compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Further development of processes and the team in line with the projected growth of the lending business
  • Proactive management of the loan portfolio through appropriate credit analysis and due diligence reviews of loans to retail customers within the scope of delegated lending authority, as well as the implementation of and adherence to governance procedures, including those related to non-performing loan (NPL) exposures
  • Supporting relationship managers in all credit-related matters (customer inquiries, loan restructuring, and credit products) and providing training on credit topics
  • Monitoring of all credit positions; systematic daily monitoring of relevant credit risk indicators; definition of thresholds and credit limits relative to approved credit lines and collateral (quantity, quality); regular reporting
  • Credito (communicating credit risks to the Executive Board and the Credit Committee), preparing functional reports, ad hoc reporting
  • Conducting Regular Management Control Checks
  • Contact person for regular audits conducted by internal and external auditors

Requirements

  • Apprenticeship as a Bank Clerk, Certified Banking Specialist
  • A degree in economics or a comparable degree; specialized degrees may also be considered, e.g., real estate economics or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience
  • Solid knowledge of the capital markets
  • Credit training in the corporate or high-net-worth individual segment
  • Leadership training and/or experience is desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of "Office" programs; familiarity with the internal CRM system is desirable; knowledge of "AI-Optifint" is a plus
  • Language Skills and Communication Skills: German, English; knowledge of other foreign languages is a plus
  • Confident, goal-oriented rhetoric
  • Effective Presentation Skills
