Job description: Head of Core Banking & Applications
Tasks
- Lead and inspire a small, highly skilled team that manages day-to-day operations and external service providers.
- Monitoring the entire lifecycle of the application landscape – ensuring availability, performance, and exceptional service quality.
- Promoting continuous improvement in vendor and service management, including SLA governance, performance monitoring, and escalation handling.
- Coordination of change, release, test, and incident management across departments and external partners to ensure smooth delivery.
- Take a leading role in bank-wide and group-wide initiatives that shape the future of our IT applications and digital capabilities.
Requirements
- Degree in (business) computer science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT banking in the area of operations or application management.
- Strong expertise in vendor and service management (SLA, escalation, governance).
- Experience in regulated environments (MaRisk, BAIIT, DORA); ITIL/ISTQB a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of core banking and enterprise applications.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in German and English.
