Head of the Data Engineering & Analytics Team
BTV Vier Ländel Bank AG is seeking a Head of Data Engineering & Analytics to assume technical responsibility for the data architecture and the strategic development of the AI platform. The position also involves leading a team of up to 50 people and ensuring data quality and governance.
Your tasks
- Technical Responsibility for Data Architecture
- Development and Maintenance of Data Platforms
- Leadership of the Data Engineering Team (up to 50 people)
- Budget Planning and Resource Management for Data Projects
- Close collaboration with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives
- Ensuring data quality, security, and availability
- Responsible for implementing data governance standards
- Identify innovation and technology trends in the data sector and bring future developments and applications in-house
- Conducting workshops with stakeholders to develop data strategies
Strategic Responsibility
- Strategic advancement of the AI platform and the data engineering environment (Data Strategy, Data Engineering, and AI Platform Delivery) in a dynamic industry—collaborating across disciplines with the areas of architecture, governance, product management, and regulation
What you bring to the table
- A college degree with a focus on engineering, quantitative analysis, or economics, or a comparable qualification
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of data engineering, including leadership responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of data science and artificial intelligence
- Strong technical understanding of AI platforms (cloud, data ops, data architecture)
- Experience in deploying solutions into production
- A strong understanding of governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Strategic and entrepreneurial leadership skills, strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in German and English
