HEAD OF INDEX EXOTICS TRADING in Zurich, Trading, 100%

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to head up our Index Exotic Trading business. In this role, you will drive strategy, execution, risk management, and product innovation in the area of index derivatives and exotic structures.

Tasks

• Leadership and management of the Index Exotic Trading Desk, including day-to-day risk, pricing, and execution
• Increasing P&L growth through market making, structuring opportunities, and strategic positioning
• Monitoring risk limits, hedging strategies, and capital utilization across a complex book
• Collaborating with sales, structuring, and research to deliver integrated solutions for institutional clients
• Management of new product development in the area of equity-linked bonds, volatility and correlation strategies, and structured index exposures
• Collaborate with compliance, model validation, and senior management to ensure regulatory and governance standards are met
• Mentoring and development of junior traders, structurers, and quants
• Representing the business in internal governance forums and market discussions

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in equity derivatives trading, with significant experience in the index exotics sector
• Proven leadership experience in managing a trading book with significant risk and P&L responsibility
• Expertise in volatility, correlation, dividends, structured products, and cross-asset hedging
• Strong quantitative background (e.g., mathematics, engineering, physics, quantitative finance)
• Proven ability to collaborate with structuring, sales, and risk functions
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
• Strong communication and interaction skills
• Fluent English required; additional languages are a strong advantage
