Head of Institutional Client Coverage MEA - MD, State Street Investment Management

The position of Head of Institutional Client Coverage MEA at State Street Investment Management requires leading a team of client relationship managers and developing relationships with institutional clients in the Middle East and Africa region. The successful candidate should have experience in client relationship management, sales, and business development, and be a strong leader.

Tasks

  • Assume ownership and accountability for managing, growing, and retaining an existing list of institutional clients and prospects across the Middle East and Africa, as well as selecting top clients and prospects across Central Asia.
  • Work with regional management on an annual business strategy and contribute to its successful execution
  • Collaborate with the Head of our Saudi Arabia business on regional initiatives
  • Work in partnership with our Relationship Management team to ensure successful onboarding of new clients / new mandates
  • Take a leading role in retaining existing business by delivering high-quality relationship management and anticipating our clients' evolving needs.
  • Focus your efforts on value-added products including quantitative and fundamental equities, EM debt, fixed income, cash, and alternatives, while delivering on our core indexing business.
  • Lead a growing business development team and ensure they deliver on their individual KPIs. In addition to this, you will own and contribute to the region's annualized net new revenue targets.
  • Oversee RFPs, product information gathering, and client-centric research on requests/demand
  • Work on strategic initiatives supporting our regional growth efforts as directed by senior management
  • Harness the expertise of our internal specialists (e.g., portfolio management, investment research, cash, ETFs, etc.) in order to deliver a consultative sale to clients.

Requirements

  • Academic background in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field
  • CFA/CMA charterholder or CFA/CAIA candidate
  • At least 5 years of experience working with SWFs, customers
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales and customer relationship management at top-tier institutional firms
  • employee management experience
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region and internationally, if necessary
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of regional regulatory frameworks
  • Good problem solver and troubleshooter, with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as the creativity and energy to solve them
