Head of IT

EFG Bank is seeking an experienced IT manager as Head of IT in Singapore to lead the IT infrastructure and support team and take on strategic and operational responsibility. The ideal candidate should have experience in IT operations, IT governance, and regulatory compliance and be able to combine strategic leadership with operational implementation.

Key responsibilities of the position

The position involves managing the IT infrastructure and support team in Singapore. The role includes full strategic and governance responsibility, as well as strong tactical oversight and direct involvement in day-to-day infrastructure, security, and operational matters.

Tasks

The main tasks include:
  • Strategic and governance commissioning
  • Practical and operational management
  • Personnel and stakeholder management

Strategic & Governance Monitoring

  • Provide a vision for a stable, scalable platform and excellent service
  • Developing and managing the annual IT budget for the Singapore branch
  • Alignment of local IT initiatives with regional and group strategy
  • Ensuring that business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) frameworks comply with standards to ensure resilience
  • Responsibility for the IT risk control self-assessment process and ensuring that risk positions and audit findings are resolved in a timely manner
  • Maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with regulatory and group requirements
  • Performing the role of outsourcer for IT services provided by headquarters and other parties
  • Participation in and recommendations to the Management and Operational Risk Committee

Practical & Operational Management

This role requires active monitoring and participation in the branch's daily technology operations, including:
  • Monitoring infrastructure stability across servers, networks, end-user, and telephone systems
  • Monitoring of security controls, including patch management, anti-virus, and IDS/DLP alerts
  • Managing and monitoring abnormal IT activities and ensuring appropriate vulnerability minimization
  • Monitoring of backup processes, tape libraries, and production readiness checks
  • Managing IT changes and ensuring proper governance prior to deployment
  • Managing user access controls and performing the role of local security administrator
  • Life cycle planning and replacement of hardware and equipment
  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly reports on system logs, access audits, and monitoring expenses
  • Monitoring of Level 1 and Level 2 support to ensure service reliability and minimal business impact

Personnel & Stakeholder Management

  • Leadership, coaching, and development of the Singapore IT team (1-5 direct reports)
  • Maintain strong communication with regional and global IT counterparts to ensure alignment and collaboration
  • Exercising the role of primary IT manager
