Head of IT

EFG Bank is seeking an experienced IT manager as Head of IT in Singapore to lead the IT infrastructure and support team and take on strategic and operational responsibility. The ideal candidate should have experience in IT operations, IT governance, and regulatory compliance and be able to combine strategic leadership with operational implementation.

Tasks

The position involves the following tasks:
  • Strategic and Governance Oversight
  • Practical and operational management
  • Human resources management and stakeholder management

Strategic & Governance Monitoring

- Provide a vision for a stable, scalable platform and superior service - Develop and manage the annual IT budget for the Singapore Branch - Align local IT initiatives with regional and Group strategy - Ensure Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) frameworks meet standards to ensure resilience - Own the IT Risk Control Self-Assessment process and ensure timely remediation of risk items and audit findings - Maintain IT policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory and Group requirements - Act as Outsource Owner for IT services provided by Head Office and other parties - Participate in and make recommendations to Management and Operational Risk committees

Practical & Operational Management

- Monitoring infrastructure stability across servers, networks, end-user systems, and telephone systems - Monitoring security controls, including patch management, antivirus, IDS/DLP alerts - Managing and monitoring abnormal IT activities and ensuring appropriate vulnerability mitigation - Monitoring backup processes, tape libraries, and production readiness checks - Managing IT changes and ensuring appropriate governance prior to deployment - Managing user access controls and serving as the Local Security Administrator - Managing the lifecycle planning and replacement of hardware and devices - Ensuring accurate and timely monthly reporting of system logs, access audits, and monitoring metrics - Overseeing Level 1 and Level 2 support to ensure service reliability and minimal business impact

Human resources management and stakeholder management

- Leading, coaching, and developing the Singapore IT team (1–5 direct reports) - Maintaining strong communication with regional and global IT counterparts to ensure alignment and collaboration - Serving as the primary IT point of contact for local business partners and senior management

Requirements

- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field - Extensive experience in IT operations within a regulated financial services environment - Strong hands-on infrastructure experience - Good knowledge of IT governance, regulatory compliance, and audit frameworks - Experience managing IT budgets and vendors/service providers - Familiarity with ITIL v4 and service management practices - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident/crisis management skills - Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution
