Head of Programs (80–100%) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking a "Head of Programs" (80–100%) to lead its grant programs focused on wealth inequality and to represent the foundation within the philanthropic community and to clients and donors. The ideal candidate will have experience in research, a foundation, or an NGO, and a strong interest in the issue of wealth inequality.
Tasks
Your main duties and responsibilities include:- Understanding and deepening the approach through which the Julius Baer Foundation (JBF) aims to help bridge the gap between different socioeconomic classes in specific industries or countries
- Identifying, visiting, and developing new proposals related to wealth inequality (WI), and ensuring that the projects serve as models for a sector, a region, or a specific group of people
- Representation of the JBF in think tanks, platforms, and conferences on wealth inequality
Program Management
- Managing JBF partners and projects related to wealth inequality, together with a small team
- Conducting tenders, due diligence reviews, and evaluating and monitoring all projects
- Drafting of grant agreements, including milestones and KPIs
- Monitoring of impact assessments and external evaluations
Customer and Donor Engagement
- Establishing and managing relationships with clients and other donors to develop funding and knowledge partnerships
- Collaborate with client advisors, wealth planners, and other teams to effectively engage clients in philanthropy and address the issue of wealth inequality
- Representing the foundation at client events
Representation and Communication
- Representing the foundation at banking and industry events, including panels, conferences, and industry associations
- Developing leadership and initiatives to increase the JBF's influence
- Leading and participating in communication activities
- Contribute to raising the industry's profile and the visibility of the JBF
Leadership and Management
- Representing the CEO internally and externally
- Support in managing the foundation from a strategic, governance, and board perspective
Requirements
Ideally, you are:- Candidates with a master’s or PhD degree in one of the following fields: economics, sociology, international development, or a related field
- Experience at a research institute, foundation, or NGO in the field of wealth inequality or a closely related topic
- Previous experience in a corporate environment is preferred
- A strong commitment to making "wealth inequality" a key focus at a private bank
- Experience in managing international grant programs and partnerships
- Experience in engaging high-net-worth individuals and/or donors
- Extensive knowledge and a broad network in research, international development, or civil society
- Ability to translate complex (research) facts into compelling language
- Team leadership experience
- Writes and speaks English at (nearly) a native level. Knowledge of other languages, particularly German, Spanish, and/or Portuguese, is a plus
- Lives in or has significant professional experience in a country affected by wealth inequality
