Head of Wealth Planning Asia

The position of Head of Wealth Planning Asia at EFG International in Singapore involves leading the regional wealth planning team and developing strategies for the Asian region. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring the team's performance and implementing solutions for private and institutional clients.

Job description

The Head of Wealth Planning Asia is responsible for overseeing and formulating the wealth planning offering in Asia, leading the regional wealth planning team, and monitoring performance in line with the group strategy and KPIs set by the Global Head of Wealth Planning.

Tasks

The main tasks include:
  • Managing the Wealth Planning team in Asia.
  • Formulate and implement strategic plans for the development of the wealth planning platform as an expanded service offering from EFG Asia.
  • Train wealth planners in the region to the desired level of standards, as determined by senior management.
  • Work with customers and client relationship officers (CROs) to understand and identify customer needs and goals, and support all relevant parties to process and close these cases.
  • Discuss wealth planning topics such as insurance solutions, trusts, foundations, companies, family offices, and other complex structures with clients and CROs to meet their needs and goals.
  • Conduct awareness training/discussions with CROs on relevant product updates and innovative positioning techniques in the wealth planning area.
  • Regional coordination of external providers for wealth planning solutions that are not available internally (e.g., life insurance, trust services).
  • Promote wealth planning concepts, services, and strategies through CRO meetings, client events, newsletters, marketing materials, and internal training in accordance with standards set by senior management.
  • Contribute to wealth planning newsletters, marketing, and other communications materials.
  • To monitor, promote, and supervise insurance brokerage activities in Asia in accordance with the group strategy.
  • Work with insurance carriers and insurance brokers to provide Universal Life Insurance (UL)/Variable Universal Life (VUL) PPR solutions and other insurance solutions for high-net-worth clients.
  • Actively collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to increase productivity and profitability and establish processes to develop and monitor the insurance business.

Requirements

The requirements include:
  • A university degree in a legal or finance-related subject; additional qualifications in the field of interest (e.g., TEP, LLM, M.Sc., etc.) are preferred.
  • A proven track record in managing wealth planning transactions, ideally in an insurance/brokerage/private banking/trust company/law firm.
  • Deep knowledge, understanding, and experience in:
    • HNW insurance solutions and premium financing.
    • The use of wealth planning tools such as trusts, foundations, family offices, and companies.
    • Coordinating, understanding, and addressing broader needs of private clients, such as relocation services and legal advice for Greater China, ASEAN, and Southeast Asia.
