Hedge fund analyst
The Hedge Fund Analyst supports the Institutional Hedge Fund Solutions team in selecting managers, constructing portfolios, and managing risk for alternative investments. The role involves analyzing hedge funds, preparing presentations and reports, and assisting with portfolio management and trading.
Your role
The Institutional Hedge Fund Solutions (IHFS) team at Bank J. Safra Sarasin oversees manager selection, portfolio construction, and risk management for complex alternative investment mandates worldwide. As a hedge fund analyst in IHFS, you will work at the heart of a selective, performance-oriented investment platform, closely collaborating with portfolio managers and senior management. In this role, you will support the team in all client-related, portfolio-related, and operational matters and provide ongoing support to the bank's front-office units. Based in Geneva, the position involves institutional due diligence on a wide range of hedge fund strategies, advanced portfolio analytics and risk monitoring, and the preparation of high-quality client deliverables for sophisticated institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients.Your tasks
- Collaborate with the portfolio management team to deliver high-quality analysis and reports for existing and potential clients
- Responsible for creating statistical reports on hedge funds and hedge fund portfolios, primarily using Excel
- Preparation of presentations, investment proposals, and portfolio reviews for potential and existing clients
- Support with hedge fund portfolio management and trade processing, as well as assistance with preparing comments for portfolio performance reports
- Execution of ad hoc operational tasks
Your profile
- Top-tier academic qualifications with a university degree in finance or similar banking education, CFA/CAIA are an advantage
- Initial relevant professional experience in the financial sector and basic industry knowledge in the area of hedge funds are advantageous.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, knowledge of VBA macros is an advantage
- Fluent English
- Ability to weigh problems, set priorities, and have a hands-on mentality, as well as the ability to work with various stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and excellent communication and presentation skills
