Hedge fund analyst
The hedge fund analyst position in the GPS Associate Program at Julius Baer in Zurich offers an 18-month development opportunity for ambitious career starters in the private banking industry. The role involves assisting with the analysis and monitoring of hedge funds as well as the creation of marketing materials and presentations.
Job description
Tasks
- Supporting alternative fund analysts in conducting investment due diligence reviews on hedge funds
- Supporting alternative fund analysts in monitoring existing investments
- Collection and processing of performance, exposure, and attribution data
- Collecting marketing materials, fact sheets, and risk reports on an ongoing basis
- Creation and maintenance of databases and models in Excel and other tools
- Participating in meetings and calls with managers/GPs and writing minutes and monthly reports
- Support in promoting and positioning alternative funds in client portfolios, including the creation and maintenance of marketing materials and presentations
- Active support for fund inquiries, education, and fund initiatives
- Support for alternative fund-related projects throughout the company
- Long-term development of due diligence capabilities and establishment of own reporting system
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in banking, finance, business administration, or a related field
- 2-3 years of professional experience (including internships)
- Experience in derivatives is an advantage
- Experience in banking middle office/operations is an advantage
- Proven entrepreneurial spirit—proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, able to process complex information quickly
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
