HR Consultant

The position as an HR Consultant at Julius Baer in Singapore offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted HR partner to business leaders and their management teams and to provide comprehensive HR services. The HR Consultant provides support in personnel matters, recruitment, performance management, and compensation, and works closely with the HR Centers of Excellence and other departments.

Tasks

  • Provides advice on all human capital matters; supports functional and business leaders and their management teams in people-related issues, planning, and decision-making by serving as an effective sounding board
  • Advise and coach line managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements throughout the employee life cycle
  • Support the implementation of the HR strategy in accordance with the Bank's strategy and the business's strategy
  • Support and coach functional and business leaders in their human capital management activities (strategic workforce management, succession planning, talent management, low-performer processes, etc.)
  • Collaborates with the various HR Centers of Excellence, both locally and in Zurich
  • Maintain good working relationships with external recruiters and vendors
  • Uses appropriate channels to facilitate the recruitment of candidates for open positions
  • Provides an insightful and balanced assessment of shortlisted candidates to help managers make sound hiring decisions
  • Propose hiring terms that are consistent with the Bank's compensation philosophy and balanced against external benchmarks and internal equity
  • Manages the hiring approval process
  • Support partners' functional and business leaders and their management teams in managing the performance management process, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end reviews, performance rating calibration, and potential evaluation exercises
  • Supports the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process with managers
  • Manages the compensation process with managers (e.g., salary benchmarking, job matching, ad hoc and year-end compensation review processes, etc.)
  • Handles staff issues in a fair, transparent, and balanced manner
  • Identifying and Managing Talent
  • Succession Planning for Leadership and Critical Roles
  • Initiatives that support staff development
  • Lead internal projects as assigned from time to time
  • Participate in and contribute to other internal projects

Requirements

  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership
  • Forward-thinking and solution-oriented
  • Ability to balance business needs with people strategy, along with excellent communication skills
  • Rational thinking
  • Able to empathize and connect with people
  • 12–15 years of experience as an HR generalist, preferably in the banking industry
  • Proficient in a wide range of HR functions (e.g., recruitment, performance management, compensation, employee relations, etc.)
  • Stay up to date on the latest developments in statutory and regulatory requirements as well as best practices
  • Experience in engaging stakeholders at various levels as an HR advisor
  • Experience in leading HR initiatives and branch projects
