HR Payroll Specialist

The position of HR Payroll Specialist (50% part-time, fixed-term through the end of January 2027) in Basel involves managing day-to-day operations in the areas of payroll and social insurance. HR Payroll Specialist (50%), Temporary Position through the end of January 2027, Basel, Switzerland, Part-time, Fixed-term. As part of the HR Services Team, you will be responsible for the professional handling of day-to-day operations in the areas of payroll and social insurance. This will involve daily communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Tasks

  • Shared responsibility for payroll processing for the bank and other companies, including bookkeeping and reporting
  • Processing of accident and sick leave reports, applications for temporary disability benefits, maternity leave, and paternity leave, as well as verifying and recording daily benefit payments
  • Tracking long-term absences due to accidents, illness, or pregnancy, including calculation of the relevant time limits
  • Point of contact for questions from employees, supervisors, and external parties regarding payroll and social insurance
  • Preparation of declarations and certificates for insurance companies, government agencies, and public authorities, as well as reports for internal contacts
  • Monthly review and submission of social security and withholding tax statements
  • Processing all employee lifecycle changes in SAP HCM related to payroll and social security

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training and continuing education in HR with a focus on payroll and social security
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in payroll and social security
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of SAP HCM
  • An independent, reliable, and meticulous work style, combined with strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach
  • A service-oriented person who enjoys administrative tasks
  • Fluency in German and English; French is a plus
