HR Support Specialist

The HR Support Specialist provides administrative support for the HR function to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day business. Key responsibilities include maintaining employee files, assisting with recruitment processes, and coordinating HR events.

Job description

Tasks

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files.
  • Ensure all employee data within the HR Information System (HRIS) is current, complete, and compliant.
  • Support audits and reporting requirements by providing reliable data.
  • Support the recruitment process by consulting with agencies, scheduling interviews and supporting the HR Consultant with conducting HR interviews.
  • Oversight and coordination of the annual Bursary Scheme, work experience placements and internships.
  • Responsible for the employee onboarding process, to include HR inductions.
  • Administer the employee offboarding procedure to include conducting exit interviews.
  • Prepare contracts and changes to terms of employment.
  • Manage employee lifecycle events.
  • Coordinate HR events and initiatives, including L&D activity.
  • Prepare monthly payroll and pension schedules.
  • Administer employee benefits and support the annual benefit renewal process.

Requirements

  • Passionate about advising and servicing employees.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Empathic personality with sound judgment.
  • Communicative, client-oriented, and confident in business discussion
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an HR administration or generalist support role
  • Good understanding of HR workflows and processes.
  • Knowledge of Guernsey employment law.
  • Confident in dealing with line managers and employees of varying personalities.
  • Proficient user of HR systems and technology.
  • Diligent approach to work and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Professional demeanor & discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to set priorities, coordinate processes, and multitask under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and solution oriented.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
