The Index Equity Technology Engineer, Director position is based in San Francisco, California.

Job Purpose

The Index Equity Technology Engineer, Director is part of the Index Equity Technology team within BlackRock Global Markets (BGMI).

Key tasks

• Implementation of an innovative investment management platform and technology ecosystem
• Identification, evaluation and implementation of improvement opportunities for operational capabilities
• Understanding the BlackRock technology stack and investment platform integration
• Supporting client developers in the delivery of tactical and strategic solutions
• Work with BlackRock technology teams to ensure they understand the requirements and create appropriate solutions
• Develop tactical solutions to accelerate business needs while planning long-term strategic solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a quantitative field with strong programming experience
• Experience with creating tools, scripts and software to support scalable and extensible software development
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• High level of self-motivation and ability to execute and deliver multiple projects simultaneously
• High level of professionalism with a customer-oriented mindset
