Job Description

The International Payroll Specialist will be a key figure in an evolving global payroll structure. The role ensures that payroll is accurately processed, that all local and international regulations are complied with, and that effective collaboration with internal and external partners is maintained to ensure efficient and compliant payroll processing.

Main tasks

  • Manage payroll from Switzerland for selected international locations to ensure that salary payments are accurate and timely.
  • Provide support and backup for payroll activities for employees based in Switzerland.
  • Work with local payroll providers to ensure compliance with tax, social security, and labor laws in each jurisdiction.
  • Work with HR and Finance to align processes, ensure interfaces are accurate, and resolve issues.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee payroll inquiries to provide timely and accurate support and ensure data quality across all locations.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports (salaries, contributions, tax obligations) and support internal and external audits with the necessary documentation.
  • Drive initiatives to review, simplify, and centralize HR/payroll processes on a global level, conduct regular checks on payroll expenditures to ensure quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing salaries in multiple countries, ideally in an international or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of international payroll processes and compliance requirements (tax, social security, labor law) in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience with payroll platforms and HR systems, with a strong focus on data quality and process reliability.
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and highly reliable, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Feel comfortable in a regulated and international environment with high standards of integrity and discretion when processing confidential data.
  • International mindset and experience in multicultural environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a proactive and positive attitude, energy, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear explanations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of national languages, especially French and Italian, is a strong advantage.
