International Payroll Specialist

Job Description

The International Payroll Specialist will be a key figure in an evolving global payroll structure. This role ensures that payroll processing is carried out accurately, that all local and international regulations are complied with, and that effective collaboration with internal and external partners is maintained to ensure efficient and compliant payroll processing.

Main tasks

  • Managing the payroll process from Switzerland for selected international locations to ensure accurate and timely payroll payments.
  • Support and assistance with payroll processing for employees based in Switzerland.
  • Coordination with local payroll providers to ensure compliance with tax, social security, and labor laws in each jurisdiction.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to align processes, ensure accurate interfaces, and resolve issues.
  • Primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, providing timely and accurate support and ensuring high data quality across all locations.
  • Preparing and reviewing payroll reports (salaries, contributions, tax obligations) and assisting with internal and external audits by providing the necessary documentation.
  • Initiating measures to review, streamline, and centralize HR and payroll processes worldwide; conducting regular audits of payroll results to ensure quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing payroll operations across multiple countries, ideally at an international company or a financial services firm.
  • Extensive knowledge of international payroll processes and compliance requirements (tax, social security, labor law) across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience with payroll platforms and HR systems, with a strong focus on data quality and process reliability.
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and highly reliable, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Feel at ease in a regulated and international environment, with high standards of integrity and discretion in the handling of confidential data.
  • International mindset and experience in multicultural environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, combined with a proactive and positive attitude, energy, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear explanations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of national languages, especially French and Italian, is a strong advantage.
