International Private Bank (JPB) Treasury - Associate

The position as an Associate in the Treasury department of JPMorgan Chase’s International Private Bank involves supporting treasury processes, analyzing derivatives and P&L, and ensuring data quality and compliance. The role requires experience in financial derivatives trading or treasury and is available at locations in Asia, Central America, Chile, and the U.S. (excluding the U.S.).

Tasks

  • Support for treasury operational processes and costs associated with posting assets and products in risk management systems and/or the application and retrieval of derivatives
  • Preparing manager and deal copy briefings for clients—typically large entities—as well as post-trade calculations
  • Analysis of Bank Counterparty Pricing Using Spreads from Interest Rate Swaps and Other Derivatives
  • Preparation of various semi-annual analyses of all entity and treasury income statements, including forecasts and spreads
  • Research and analysis of customer contracts, such as forward exchange contracts and guarantees; identification of valuation errors; and provision of analyses of spreads
  • Support and reporting on new or amended contracts and automated compliance tests, as well as ensuring timely corrective actions
  • Use sound judgment and a keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and control of the bank's execution

Requirements

  • Experience or knowledge in trading or accounting for financial derivatives, treasury, the finance department, or asset and liability management; or in product control
  • Ability to develop and apply an understanding of general banking operations and customer financing, risk transfers, and on-balance-sheet and off-balance-sheet accounting
  • Proven ability to multitask, analyze, and interact with customers, as well as manage customer expectations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics to various stakeholders
  • Experience in working effectively with international teams and managing relationships with internal and external partners
  • A strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality, as well as the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks using a structured approach
  • Experience working with data (e.g., database software, spreadsheets) in the context of financial transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to analyze systems and automate routine tasks, including currency conversion and calculations

Desirable qualifications

  • Experience supporting the finance department or in capital management
  • Analytical mindset with a desire to learn; with a focus on mathematics or the natural sciences
  • Fluency in a target language is also an advantage
