International Wealth Planner

The position of International Wealth Planner at the Syz Group in Geneva requires a broad range of skills and experience in wealth management, including direct client support, cross-border planning, and administrative support. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in legal, tax, and private client planning for Switzerland.

Tasks

The role of a wealth planner includes the following responsibilities:
  • Assistance in managing marketing efforts and identifying wealth planning opportunities, either in support of the head of the wealth planning team or with full individual responsibility
  • Providing expertise in the areas of family business planning and management, establishing family offices, insurance planning, investment structures such as companies and trusts, cross-border planning for international assets and family members, advice on relocations, philanthropic support, and estate planning, including the use of trusts and foundations
  • Coordination with the client's external consultants, including the evaluation and implementation of solutions
  • Conducting training sessions for relationship managers to enhance the marketing team’s understanding and use of wealth planning and to improve the internal reputation of wealth planning
  • Assist the Head of the Wealth Planning Team in monitoring performance metrics and tracking activities
  • Conducting and overseeing due diligence reviews of contractual partners and coordinating with the legal department when finalizing contracts
  • Coordinate with internal colleagues, including the Tax, Legal, and Swiss Pension Solutions teams, to ensure a coordinated, collaborative approach
  • A team player who is willing to pitch in to support the wealth planning team, from preparing marketing materials to drafting internal communications for business and regulatory updates
  • Maintaining relationships with internal contacts, internal controls, and providing support as needed

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:
  • Over 10 years of experience in law, taxation, and private client planning for Switzerland
  • Direct experience in client relations and experience as a wealth planner, including taking over client relationships and managing transactions through to completion
  • A detailed understanding of the cross-border regulatory environment and its implications for wealth planning
  • A solid understanding of insurance structures as a tool for investment and/or estate planning
  • Knowledge of intergenerational planning concepts and fiduciary structures and their application across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience in establishing family offices and considerations regarding philanthropic structuring
  • Knowledge of financial markets and experience in corporate structuring are helpful but not required
