Aim of the role
The position of Investment Advisor in Abu Dhabi (ADGM) focuses on driving business growth and ensuring high quality investment advice for clients in the newly opened Abu Dhabi office.Tasks and responsibilities
- Client Advisory & Relationship Management:
- Key interface between Relationship Managers (RMs) in Abu Dhabi and the Investment Advisory team within CC&A (regional and global)
- Ambassador of the Julius Baer value proposition
- Participation in client meetings as an investment specialist and support of the front office with suggestions and holistic portfolio ideas
- Active support in the acquisition and retention of client solutions (discretionary and advisory mandates)
- Holistic business development and active cooperation with various competence centers, regionally and globally (Investment Management and various GPS units, including Investment Specialist, Wealth Planning)
- Collaborate with RMs and various internal stakeholders to deliver quality advice, improve profitability and increase share of wallet
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers, RMs and other internal stakeholders
- Business Development & Growth:
- Work with RMs to identify business opportunities, acquire and expand client base in the region and in particular in the newly opened office in ADGM
- Vigilance to minimize operational errors
- Establishment of risk tolerance and best asset allocation strategy in cooperation with clients
Requirements
- Professional experience:
- Extensive (8-10+) years of professional experience in the banking and finance industry, preferably in investment advisory, discretionary portfolio management or asset management
- Skills and characteristics:
- Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders in a highly articulate and professional manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills, empathetic personality, charisma, persuasiveness
- Focus on results
- Ability to engage with customers and colleagues from different backgrounds
- Strong ability to plan, organize and communicate a clear vision
- Good judgment and ability to work under pressure
- Education:
- University degree or apprenticeship/baccalaureate, preferably in economics or finance
- Further training in financial markets (CFA, CAIA etc.) is an advantage
- Languages:
- Mandatory: English (excellent written and oral skills)
- Other:
- Genuine passion for financial markets with good knowledge of all asset classes and financial products (alternatives, funds, structured products, etc.)
- Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements/regimes
