The Investment Banker (m/f/d) for Nordic Coverage as a Vice President at Nomura in London supports the advisory and execution of transactions for clients in the Nordic region. The focus is on M&A, financing and capital raising for companies, financial institutions and governments in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland.

Tasks:

  • Typical work involves a mix of client service and execution, including: valuation, financial analysis, strategic analysis, due diligence, deal finance and litigation management
  • Coordination and cooperation with all other product, geo and sector teams is required;
  • Opportunity to work on a variety of transaction types including financial advisory, self-M&A, buy-side M&A, capital raising, leveraged buyouts and structured and asset solutions.

Focus of the Nordic Coverage Team:

  • Originating and executing transactions across a broad range of Investment Banking Division products (including M&A, Acquisition Finance, Equity Advisory, DCM and Solutions Businesses) and sectors in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland;
  • Advise and collaborate with sector and product teams on all relevant aspects of transaction execution, such as market dynamics, modeling and valuation, financial modeling, structuring, etc;
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key regional customers and enabling relationship building and cross-border investment flows.

Requirements:

  • A proven background in M&A / Corporate Finance with experience in an investment banking or advisory boutique environment;
  • Significant experience in sell-side and buy-side M&A and debt/equity financings;
  • Teamwork: Experience working in a project-based, international environment with tight deadlines and as part of a wider team;
  • Project management capability to deliver teams to meet customer needs;
  • Excellent financial modeling skills, including the ability to perform analysis;
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to interact confidently with banking professionals and clients;
  • Distinctive academic performance: consistently in the top 10% of the peer group;
  • Fluent in either Swedish (preferred), Danish or Norwegian and English.
