Investment Banking, M&A Vice President

Alantra is seeking a Vice President (VP) for its investment banking team in Stockholm, Sweden, who has experience in M&A and corporate finance and is capable of taking on leadership responsibilities. The VP will be responsible for leading origination activities, executing M&A transactions, and managing teams.

Tasks

The main tasks include:
  • Taking a leading role in initiating activities with private equity clients and companies
  • Support for origination, commercial, and marketing efforts, including the comprehensive preparation of presentations, such as the development of investment cases, valuations, buyer identification, process design, etc.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day execution of M&A and/or financing transactions
  • Coordination of due diligence processes (financial, legal, tax, commercial, etc.)
  • Management of data rooms, Q&A processes, and interaction with advisors
  • Preparation and review of key transaction documents (information memoranda, teasers, management presentations, process letters, etc.)
  • Monitoring of financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction structuring
  • Supporting negotiation phases alongside senior team members
  • Ensuring that deadlines are met and key project workflows are proactively managed

Additional responsibilities

Other responsibilities include:
  • Supervising and mentoring associates and analysts
  • Ensuring high standards of analytical rigor and presentation quality
  • Efficient task allocation and team workload management

Requirements

The requirements include:
  • 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in M&A, corporate finance advisory, investment banking, or related fields
  • Experience in international deal environments
  • Ideally (but not necessarily) a background in technology, software, or IT services transactions, which are an increasingly important area of focus for the team
  • A profile equivalent to the Senior Associate or Vice President level, to ensure sufficient experience to lead junior team members

Required skills

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
  • Ability to independently manage and execute transaction processes
  • Experience from leading consulting firms or investment banks
  • The confidence to act as a challenging and value-adding advisor to clients and colleagues
  • A personality suited to an international organization, combined with a collaborative Swedish business culture
  • Native language: Swedish
