Job Description
Man's Portfolio Risk team is responsible for implementing and monitoring regulatory and contractual investment restrictions across the company. The role is part of the Portfolio Risk team and has a strong focus on technology, developing new tools, and creating data visualizations to support the function.Specific tasks
- Analyze and generate compliance alerts to ensure consistency with investment mandates and work with traders and portfolio managers to resolve exceptions
- Identify and escalate compliance alerts; collaborate with the technology and front office teams to ensure that a robust pre-trade risk framework is in place
- Reviewing investment restrictions for new clients prior to onboarding
- Reviewing investment restrictions and investment ideas, as needed
- Maintenance and implementation of investment restrictions and maintenance of the critical violation log
- Collaborate with the Product Legal and Structuring teams to specify changes to the prospectus or other documents, as needed
- Collaborate with the technology team to identify the system enhancements needed to implement new monitoring and analytics capabilities in response to changing requirements
Requirements
- Investment experience equivalent to a master's degree in a field with an analytical component
- Preference for 2–5 years of experience in a similar role at another asset management firm
- Ability to learn quickly and absorb large amounts of information
- Practical knowledge of investment strategies used as part of portfolio management, including techniques involving derivatives and short positions
- Experience in drafting investment policies, offering memorandums, and investment management agreements
- Experience in monitoring portfolio investment requirements related to U.S. and non-U.S. investment funds
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic programming skills, preferably in Excel/VBA, SQL, and Python
