About the role

As a member of the Investment and Data Implementation (IDI) team, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of AHL's front office investment operations, trading systems and models. You will ensure that data integrity is maintained, new business initiatives and research ideas are implemented, risk parameters are managed and projects are coordinated across various stakeholders.

Main tasks:

• Oversee and ensure smooth operation of AHL's systematic trading systems and models, identify and collaborate with colleagues and technology teams to propose projects to improve operational efficiency and contribute to improved trading performance
• Ownership of technologies such as AWS, Python and SQL to improve, automate and optimize core functionalities
• Design and support the architecture of AHL's trading data environment, including data aggregation, position management and component monitoring
• Manage data and research operations, including maintenance and cleansing of critical data for AHL's systematic trading algorithms and quantitative research teams, including trading signals, data feeds and other inputs used by AHL's strategies

Requirements:

Required:

• Ability to manage multiple work streams and competing priorities simultaneously
• Reliable judgment under pressure and intellectual honesty
• Strong data and written communication
• Interest in financial markets
• Basic knowledge of Python or similar programming languages for data manipulation and analysis

Preferred:

• 1+ year of relevant work experience in an operations role in the investment management/hedge fund or financial services industry
• Experience in auditing or significant contribution to complex projects
• Ability to derive complex data from large amounts of data into structured and unstructured data
• Experience in managing one or more of the financial assets traded by AHL, including futures, FX, equities, options and bonds
• Experience in developing Python scripts and SQL queries for data processing, analysis and automated reporting
