Job description: Investment & Data Operations Analyst

About the role

As a member of the Investment and Data Implementation (IDI) team, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end data management of AHL's front office investment operations, trading systems and models. You will ensure data integrity is maintained, implement new business initiatives and research ideas, manage risk and coordinate projects across a range of stakeholders.

Main tasks:

• Monitoring and ensuring the smooth operation of AHL's systematic trading systems and models (using Python and associated data pipelines)
• Collaborate with colleagues and technology teams on projects to improve operational efficiency and contribute to AHL's innovation
• Ownership of technology, including data origination on Python and SQLs, to improve, automate and streamline core processes
• Design and support the architecture of AHL's trading environment, including data aggregation, position management and model monitoring
• Manage data feeds and requests, including maintenance and cleansing of critical data for AHL's systematic trading algorithms and quantitative research teams

Requirements:

Required:

• Ability to manage multiple workflows and competing priorities simultaneously
• Strong judgment under pressure and intellectual honesty
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Interest in financial markets
• Basic knowledge of Python or similar programming languages for data manipulation and analysis

Preferred:

• 1+ year of relevant work experience in an operations role in the investment management or hedge fund industry
• Experience in working on projects or supporting projects in complex systems
• Value-at-risk, drawdown analysis or portfolio analysis, which presents structured and unstructured data
• Working knowledge/understanding of the financial assets traded by AHL, including futures, FX, equities, options and bonds
• Experience in developing Python scripts and SQL queries for data processing, analysis and automated reporting
