Job description: Investment & Data Operations Analyst

About the role

The AHL Investment and Data Implementation (IDI) team is split into small, cross-functional teams based in Hong Kong, London and Sofia. Team members are responsible for the implementation of new business initiatives, fund investment strategies, new asset classes, new markets and the integrity of the data and outputs associated with the systematic models and trading platforms and processes.

Tasks

• Monitoring and ensuring the smooth operation of AHL's systematic trading systems and models
• Collaborate with colleagues and technology teams on projects to improve operational efficiency and contribute to AHL's strategic goals
• Providing technology, including data analytics, to improve, automate and streamline core investment processes
• Collaboration with data scientists on data products and deliveries
• Design and support the architecture of AHL's trading environment, including data aggregation, position management and component monitoring
• Manage day-to-day front office operations, including maintenance and cleansing of critical data for AHL's systematic trading algorithms and quantitative research teams

Requirements

Required skills:

• Ability to manage multiple work streams and competing priorities simultaneously
• Reliable judgment under pressure and intellectual honesty
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Interest in financial markets
• Basic knowledge of Python or similar programming languages for data manipulation and analysis

Preferred skills:

• 1 or more years of relevant professional experience in an operations role in the investment management or hedge fund industry
• Experience in working on projects (or directly on complex projects)
• Ability to dive deep into data and curate it to tell a story and present structured and unstructured data effectively
• Working knowledge of the financial markets traded by AHL, including futures, FX, equities, options and bonds
• Experience in developing Python scripts and SQL queries for data processing, analysis and automated reporting
