Investment Operations Specialist
Investment Operations Specialist at Man Group in Zurich, focusing on fund operations, NAV monitoring, and client relationships in the alternative investments sector.
Tasks
- Maintaining a scalable process for managing size and risk parameters, including the collection and verification of KYC/KAM documentation, due diligence, and ad hoc performance analyses.
- Monitoring compliance with Man Group policies, including outsourcing to third-party service providers.
- Sales Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding outsourced or in-house fund operations.
- NAV Monitoring: Performing mark-to-market calculations in accordance with guidelines and validating the fair market value calculations (NAVs) provided by the fund managers.
- Due Diligence: Review of NAVs, reporting on changes, fees, and reconciliation errors across various asset classes (equities, FX, commodities, credit).
- Revenue & Allocations: Reviewing fund approvals, processing transactions, and handling money transfers for clients.
- Collection of GIPS/PSI and expense data.
- Customer Service and Relationship Management: Managing, reviewing, and validating customers' terms and conditions.
- Negotiating order documentation with custodians, third parties, and position trading instructions while ensuring compliance with all Man Group policies, including SSDF (SEC and CFTC use cases, MS.89).
- Structuring cost savings or efficiency improvements.
- Monitoring of standard accounts, including the opening of accounts for asset classes in the financial services sector (e.g., ADRs, GDRs).
- Coordination with global custodians, investment managers, and brokers to finalize powers of attorney (POAs), financial policies, and established protocols.
- Consulting and Guidance: Providing clients with detailed information and advice on the topics mentioned above, as well as any additional due diligence support required.
- Providing precise, timely, and professional responses to customer inquiries.
- Comprehensive answers to questions from financial managers and investment professionals.
- Maintain relationships with custodian banks, service providers, and external parties to gain and maintain access.
- In-depth knowledge of alternative asset classes, including their complexity, diversification, and investment strategies.
- Close collaboration with other Man business units within the bank.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as Commercial and Sales, to gain customer perspectives.
- Ensuring the consistency of business rules so that customers have a consistent view of services across the entire organization.
- Organizing external stakeholder calls with service providers, such as trading firms, custodians, clearing houses, and regulatory authorities.
- Pay attention to regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
- Development and distribution of customer-focused services and reports, such as performance and risk reports.
Requirements
- A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business administration, mathematics, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of specialized experience in asset management, including equities and/or private hedge funds.
- Experience in a Business White environment, including NAV, SAFT, OA, and/or operations (P&L).
- Familiarity with the major regulatory agencies (PRA, SEC, FINRA, CFTC) and operational environments (SWIFT, Bloomberg, Bloomberg Terminal), as well as a solid understanding of the relevant regulatory compliance requirements.
- A strong attention to detail and clear communication are essential.
