The Investment Advisor (AVP) is responsible for providing global investment advisory services to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients by delivering strategic and tactical investment ideas across various asset classes. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities, from conducting monthly portfolio reviews to identifying time-sensitive investment opportunities and collaborating with other teams.
Job description
International Investors offers global investment advisory services across various asset classes to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth private banking clients on a non-discretionary basis. International Investors provides tactical and asset allocation investment ideas, utilizing a variety of investment vehicles and instruments based on the client’s profile and risk tolerance, while reflecting the views of Itau Private Bank’s Global Investment Committee.Tasks and responsibilities
- Conduct monthly portfolio reviews and presentations with clients, and recommend strategic and tactical opportunities across asset classes, including listed equities, OTC fixed income, mutual funds, alternative investment vehicles, derivatives, NDFs, structured notes, co-investment structures, etc.
- Identify timely/time-sensitive investment opportunities to share with clients between monthly reviews
- Actively participate in the process of generating investment ideas while interacting with other members of the investment team
- Work with product teams, portfolio solutions teams, and/or structuring teams to identify suitable investment vehicles
- Work closely with bankers and domestic investors to develop a seamless, global relationship with clients that encompasses both onshore and offshore investment accounts
- Attend client acquisition meetings to either attract new assets from other institutions or achieve an appropriate allocation of client assets between onshore and offshore assets
- Assess customer suitability at the product and portfolio levels
- Record customer orders and execute them with counterparties on the trading platform
- Travel to Latin America 2–3 times a year to conduct in-person portfolio reviews with clients
- Compliance with principles, laws, regulations, and guidelines relating to anti-money laundering and banking secrecy, as well as Itau's relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in finance, economics, or a related field
- An MBA or CFA is preferred
- Series 7 required. Series 66 preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in private banking or the financial services industry
- Be a team player
- Fluency in Portuguese is required. Spanish is a plus.
