IT Application Support Specialist – 2nd Level Support (Full-Time) (f/m/d)

The Julius Baer Group is seeking an IT Application Support Specialist for second-level support who will ensure the smooth operation of core banking applications and provide second-level support by managing incidents, changes, and releases within defined SLAs. The position holder will work closely with IT teams, business partners, and third-level support to drive automation and maintain system documentation.

Tasks

The position of IT Application Support Specialist – 2nd Level Support includes the following responsibilities:
  • Coordination and communication between incident managers, application service owners, third-level support, other IT teams, and business partners
  • Assumption of Local Administrative Management
  • Regular on-call shifts (weekly 24/7 rotation)
  • Managing change requests and ensuring the proper execution of application-related processes
  • Participation in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
  • Collaboration on projects related to the operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
  • Performing routine data cleansing and system maintenance
  • Optimization of processes and automation of recurring tasks, including handover to L1 (Control Center)
  • Maintaining and updating the application operations documentation and the knowledge base
  • Providing support for batch job scheduling and monitoring (e.g., Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar tools)

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:
  • Completion of an IT degree program (degree in computer science or equivalent IT-certified training)
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
  • Strong knowledge of Linux (shell scripting is an advantage)
  • Solid knowledge of the Windows operating system at the server level
  • Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools (AWA experience is a plus)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Experience with batch job support and scheduling tools (Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar)
