IT Application Support Specialist – 2nd Level Support (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
As an IT Application Support Specialist – 2nd Level Support at Julius Baer, you will be responsible for supporting critical applications and resolving incidents. You will work closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure stable and efficient operations.
Tasks
- Resolve process incident tickets generated by monitoring systems and the local service desk within agreed-upon SLAs
- Effectively coordinate and communicate between incident managers, application service owners, third-level support, other IT/Agile teams, and business partners
- Serve as the local administrative manager
- Take on periodic on-call duties (weekly 24/7 rotation)
- Manage change requests and ensure that application-related processes are carried out properly
- Participate in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
- Participate in projects that address operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
- Perform routine data cleansing and system maintenance
- Drive process optimization and automation of recurring tasks, including handoff to L1 (Control Center)
- Maintain and update application operations documentation and the knowledge base
- Provide support for batch job scheduling and monitoring (e.g., Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar tools)
Requirements
- Completed IT education (degree in computer science or equivalent IT-related certification)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
- Strong knowledge of Unix (shell scripting is a plus)
- Solid understanding of Windows OS at the server level
- Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools (AWA experience is a plus)
