IT Application Support Specialist – 2nd Level Support (Full-Time) (f/m/d)

The Julius Baer Group is seeking an IT Application Support Specialist for 2nd-level support on a full-time basis in Zurich, who will be responsible for supporting critical applications and resolving incident tickets. The ideal candidate will have completed IT training, at least 2 years of professional experience in application support, and solid knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Java application servers.

Tasks

As an IT Application Support Specialist – 2nd Level Support, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Processing incident tickets generated by monitoring systems and the local service desk within agreed-upon SLAs
  • Coordinate and communicate with incident managers, application service owners, third-level support, other IT and Agile teams, and business partners
  • Assuming Local Administrative Management
  • Taking on periodic on-call duties (weekly 24/7 rotation)
  • Managing change requests and ensuring the proper execution of application-related processes
  • Participation in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
  • Contribute to projects related to the operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
  • Performing routine data cleansing and maintenance of systems
  • Optimizing processes and automating recurring tasks, including handoff to L1 (Control Center)
  • Maintaining and Updating Application Operations Documentation and the Knowledge Base
  • Providing support for batch job scheduling and monitoring (e.g., Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar tools)

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:
  • Completed IT education (degree in computer science or equivalent IT-related certification)
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
  • Strong knowledge of Linux (shell scripting is an advantage)
  • Solid understanding of Windows OS at the server level
  • Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools (AWA experience is a plus)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Experience with batch job support and scheduling tools (Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar)
