IT Change and Release Coordinator
The IT Change and Release Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring IT releases to ensure successful deployments of applications, updates and infrastructure changes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills as well as a solid technical foundation.
Job description: IT Change and Release Coordinator
Tasks
- Planning, coordination and monitoring of IT releases to ensure successful deployments of applications, updates and infrastructure changes.
- Maintenance of a central release calendar to ensure transparency across all IT teams.
- Conduct release readiness reviews to ensure that all dependencies and risks are considered.
- Facilitate the review of deployment process artifacts to ensure that releases meet quality and compliance standards.
- Facilitation of post-release evaluations to document experiences and improve future processes.
Process and policy implementation
- Contribute to the development and implementation of release management policies to ensure compliance with industry and Northern Trust standards (e.g. ITIL).
- Use of tools such as ServiceNOW to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort in release workflows.
- Maintain and analyze KPIs to identify trends and areas for continuous improvement.
Cooperation and communication
- Function as liaison between IT and business units for release activities.
- Ensuring clear communication of changes, risks and results to all stakeholders.
Governance and compliance
- Ensuring that all releases comply with organizational guidelines, security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance of detailed documentation for audit purposes and historical reference.
- Implementation of training and awareness-raising measures to promote understanding of and compliance with IT change and release processes.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
- ITIL certification (Foundation level required; Intermediate or Expert level preferred).
Skills and experience
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Expertise in risk assessment, mitigation strategies and root cause analysis.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Percentage of successful changes/releases without incidents.
- Change implementation time vs. schedule.
- Frequency of unplanned outages or rollbacks.
- Stakeholder satisfaction scores for change and release management processes.
- Compliance rate with internal and external standards.
